An Experiment in Social Transportation™

Carticipate on the iPhone is the first ride sharing application on a location aware mobile platform and is available as a free download on Apple's App Store on iTunes.

The Company developed a location based mobile social network for ride sharing, ride combining, and car pooling, an activity which the company refers to as 'carticipation.'

Environmental concern and the price of gasoline is changing behavior where carticipating is becoming a necessity for an increasing number of people. Ride sharing and car pooling has been, up to this point, opportunistic since it isn't practical to call or email several people every time one wants to share a ride, especially on short notice.

Company History

Carticipate was founded in May 2008 to develop mobile based rideshare applications. Carticipate version 1.0 was released into beta for the iPhone on Apple's iTunes App Store on August 3rd, 2008. Carticipate's most recent release was v1.2 on October 25th and is available in 59 countries.
